Day 1: Arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport – Transfer to Phuentsholing

Distance: 170 km | Travel Time: 5 hrs | Altitude: 293 m
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). Meet your driver and start your journey towards Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan.
Spend the evening at leisure or explore the local Bhutanese markets for handicrafts, souvenirs, and gift items.

Day 2: Phuentsholing to Thimphu

Distance: 150 km | Travel Time: 5 hrs | Altitude: 2350 m
After breakfast, your tour guide will assist you with immigration formalities at the Phuentsholing Immigration Office.
En route to Thimphu, visit:

  • Dam Viewpoint – Scenic views of nearby valleys

  • Dantak Viewpoint – A popular stop for panoramic mountain views

  • Milarepa Lhakhang – A sacred temple dedicated to the Tibetan saint Milarepa

On arrival, check-in at your hotel in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu Sightseeing & Transfer to Paro

Distance: 65 km | Travel Time: 2 hrs | Altitude of Paro: 2280 m

After breakfast, explore the top tourist attractions in Thimphu:

  • National Folk Heritage Museum – A glimpse of Bhutanese rural life

  • Motithang Takin Preserve – See the rare Takin, Bhutan’s national animal

  • Buddha Dordenma – A giant golden Buddha statue with 125,000 smaller Buddhas inside

  • Painting School (Zorig Chusum Institute) – Learn about traditional Bhutanese arts

  • Bhutan Postal Museum – Create your own Bhutanese stamp!

Later, drive to Paro, a scenic town known for its historical sites and cultural charm.

Day 4: Paro Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Paro:

  • Kyichu Lhakhang – One of the oldest temples in Bhutan, believed to be built in the 7th century

Day 5: Paro – Phuentsholing – Gorumara

Distance: 270 km | Travel Time: 6 hrs
After breakfast, check out and drive back through Phuentsholing to reach Gorumara, a beautiful forest region in North Bengal.

Day 6: Gorumara Safari & Return to NJP / Bagdogra

Start your day with an exciting Jeep Safari (at your own cost) at Gorumara National Park, home to the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, deer, bison, and elephants.

After the safari, enjoy breakfast, check out from the hotel, and proceed to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for your return journey.
