Day 01: NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport to Phuentsholing

Distance: 110 km | Driving Time: ~3 hrs | Altitude: 293 meters

Welcome to your Bhutan journey! After arriving at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), meet our travel representative. You’ll drive to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan, located at the edge of the Indian plains. This bustling town is the main entry point into Bhutan by road from India. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel.

Overnight stay: Phuentsholing

Day 02: Phuentsholing to Thimphu

Distance: 150 km | Driving Time: ~5 hrs

After breakfast, travel to Thimphu, the peaceful capital of Bhutan. Enjoy scenic stops on the way:

  • Dam View Point – A serene location with a view of the dam and surrounding valleys

  • Dantak View Point – A popular photo stop offering a panoramic view of the Himalayan foothills

  • Milarepa Lhakhang - nestled in Bhutan’s windswept hills, whispers the legacy of a yogi’s song and solitude in every stone.

Check-in at your hotel on arrival.

Overnight stay: Thimphu

Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing & Transfer to Paro

After breakfast, explore the top attractions in Thimphu:

  • National Folk Heritage Museum – A traditional 19th-century Bhutanese house turned museum showcasing local culture and lifestyle

  • Painting School (Institute for Zorig Chusum) – Students here learn traditional Bhutanese art, including painting, wood carving, and embroidery

  • Buddha Dordenma Statue – A massive golden Buddha statue overlooking Thimphu with over 125,000 small Buddhas inside. A spiritual and visual highlight of the city

  • The Motithang Takin Preserve – Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin, this preserve is a must-visit for wildlife lovers

  • Bhutan Postal Museum:
    Located in the heart of Thimphu, the Bhutan Postal Museum is a popular attraction for tourists. One of its highlights is the chance to create a personalized Bhutanese stamp with your own photo on it—right on the spot.

    Simply Bhutan is a must-visit cultural museum where visitors can explore Bhutanese traditions, lifestyle, and history in a fun and interactive way. It's the perfect place to experience Bhutan’s rich heritage all in one stop.

Later, drive to Paro, a charming valley town surrounded by mountains.

Day 04: Paro Sightseeing & Transfer to Gorumara via Phuentsholing

After breakfast, visit the top tourist spots in Paro:

  • Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan) – Once a watchtower, now a museum showcasing Bhutanese artifacts, traditional tools, and historic treasures

  • Rinpung Dzong – Known as Paro Dzong, this iconic 17th-century fortress displays stunning Bhutanese architecture

  • Paro Airport Viewpoint – One of the world’s most scenic airports. Watch planes land amid mountain views

After sightseeing, drive back to Gorumara via Phuentsholing.

Overnight stay: Gorumara

Day 05: Gorumara to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport

Start your morning with a visit to Gorumara National Park, located in the lush Himalayan foothills of North Bengal. The park is famous for its Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, along with elephants, deer, and many bird species. Enjoy an early Jeep Safari (at your own cost) through the forest.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to NJP Station or IXB Airport for your journey back home.
